Clause 9, Art. 6 Federal Law 115 states that those foreign citizens who have obtained temporary residence permit for themselves in Russia must annually submit to the Main Department of Internal Affairs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (former Federal Migration Service) confirmation of their residence in the Republic of Belarus in St. Petersburg or the Leningrad Region.
Very often, foreigners do not know about this requirement of federal law or simply forget. But if the corresponding notice is not sent to the Main Department of Internal Affairs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (former FMS) or if it is violated by the deadlines established by the law of the Russian Federation, then the foreign citizen’s RVP will be canceled.
In order to avoid this, it is necessary to submit to the Main Department of Internal Affairs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (former FMS) every year a confirmation of residence in the form established by law, together with a document indicating the source and amount of income for the past year.
