We have repeatedly written in our articles that migration registration is a mandatory procedure for foreigners who are in Russia.
But, based on practice, we notice that foreign citizens often ignore or do not comply with the deadlines for registration with the Migration Register.
The current migration registration allows a foreign citizen to legally stay in Russia for 3 months. After 90 days, it can be extended.
Due to their forgetfulness, foreigners can be subject to serious sanctions from the government of the Russian Federation.
So, for example, if the deadlines for registration with the migration registration are not respected, a foreigner could be threatened:
- Administrative fine
- Deportation and entry ban
